Empowering the Future – A Recap of the 25th Leadership Holiday Camp for Children and Youth

Calabar, Nigeria – August 2023

In the heart of Calabar, Nigeria, the Erina Help and Care Foundation joined hands with the Save the Children Campaign to bring forth a transformative event that will forever shape the lives of over 100 children and youth. The 25th Leadership Camp for Children and Youth held from August 20th – 27th  2023, was a testament to the power of collaboration, community, and compassion.

A Nurturing Environment

One of the cornerstones of this remarkable camp was the provision of a safe and nurturing environment for all participants. Ensuring the well-being of our young campers was a top priority, and we are proud to report that they were well-fed with three nutritious meals daily. This created a foundation of energy, health, and comfort that allowed them to fully engage in the camp’s activities.

Leadership in Action

The camp was not just a gathering; it was a journey of self-discovery and growth. Through a series of leadership workshops, the participants were given the tools to become leaders not only in their own lives but also within their communities. These workshops focused on teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving, and self-confidence, imparting valuable life skills that will serve these young individuals well into the future.

Volunteers: The Heartbeat of the Camp

The success of the camp would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of over 20 volunteers who selflessly devoted their time and energy to guide and mentor the young participants. These individuals exemplify the spirit of community and are living proof that positive change can be achieved through collective effort.

Inspiring Outcomes

The impact of the 25th Leadership Camp is profound and far-reaching:

  • Empowerment: Over 100 children and youth left the camp with newfound leadership skills, increased self-confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility. They are now better equipped to take charge of their futures.

  • Personal Growth: The camp provided a platform for personal growth, allowing participants to express themselves and explore their potential through various activities.

  • Community Bonds: Lifelong friendships were forged during the camp, fostering a sense of belonging and unity among the participants.

  • Advocacy for Change: Both volunteers and participants were inspired to become active contributors to society, advocates for positive change, and leaders in their own right.

A Bright Future Ahead

As we reflect on the success of the 25th Leadership Camp for Children and Youth, we are reminded of the incredible potential that lies within every child. It is through initiatives like these that we can help unlock that potential and provide the tools for a brighter future.

We extend our gratitude to the Save the Children Campaign, our dedicated volunteers, and the parents and guardians who entrusted their children to our care. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of children and youth in our community and beyond.

EHCF was awarded for their invaluable contribution and support to Nigerian children and humanity. We will continue our mission to empower the next generation of leaders and change-makers. Together, we can build a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
